Smartphones

Smartphones have become an integral part of our lives, but children still need to learn a few things.

Dear Parents and Students,

We understand the importance of the connection between children and parents, as well as the role of modern technology in our lives. However, our main goal is to provide quality education and a safe environment for all students. Therefore, we are implementing the following mobile phone policy:

1. During the School Day:

  • Phones must be turned off or set to silent mode and stored in backpacks or school lockers.

  • The use of phones in class is not allowed, except in cases where teachers specifically permit it for educational purposes.

2. After Classes:

  • Students are allowed to check messages from parents, but active phone use is not recommended.

  • We encourage face-to-face communication and active play during breaks.

3. Emergency Situations:

  • If you need to urgently contact your child, please call the school office.

  • If a child needs to contact you, they can speak to a teacher or go to the school office.

4. Responsibility:

  • The school is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of phones.

  • We recommend not bringing expensive phone models to school.

5. Consequences of Rule Violations:

  • For the first violation: a verbal warning.

  • For repeated violations: the phone will be taken to the school office for safekeeping until the end of the school day.

  • For systematic violations, we will invite parents to discuss the situation.

6. Educational Aspect:

  • We encourage the use of phones for educational purposes, especially regarding platforms and services included in our educational programs.

  • In computer classes, we use school iPads and laptops.

  • We conduct lessons on digital literacy and safe internet use.

We believe that this policy will help create a balanced educational environment where technology serves as a learning tool rather than a distraction.

Sincerely,

The Administration of Koriphey School
